WHAT WE BRING
The Academic portfolio encompasses a core set of events that provide students within the Alberta School of Business and beyond! They organize events such as Energize and AICC, and also facilitate student services such as the BSA book sale and locker rentals.
Hey! I am your VPA, Evan Ferguson.
I head up the Academic portfolio, which consists of myself and my three stellar directors, Rea, Mya, and Piero. Together we look after the Academic Opportunities and Services available to students as well as Advocate on the issues that you face within ASOB.
Currently, I am majoring in Accounting and am pursuing minors in Economics and SMO. Beyond the BSA and class, I am also a part of the RMBS external team and coach hockey. When you can’t find me in the BSA office, I am probably in BUS lounge or I’ve managed to escape campus for a couple hours and am either hanging out with some friends or outside attempting to be athletic. I joined the BSA to try and make all of our experience going through ASOB as enjoyable as possible, if you ever want to talk about career paths, the BSA, Accounting, or just talk else please don’t hesitate to come into the office or we can grab a coffee if you or I are in need of caffeine.
I would love the chance to get to know you all better.
Academic Opportunity Director
Hi there! I’m Rea and I am the Academics Opportunities Director for the upcoming year! It’s my job to (you guessed it) bring you academic opportunities, both internally through events like the Alberta Internal Case Competition and the Apprentice Challenge, as well as externally through conferences and seminars happening in the YEG and beyond. You can find me in Business Lounge, scrambling to finish an assignment I, no doubt, left to the last minute or at Dewey’s happy hour, there’s no in between. If you’re looking for someone to discuss memes or grab a coffee with, hit me up!
Hello! As advocacy director, my job will be to ensure that the voice of undergraduate students is heard throughout the Alberta School of Business. If you have any feedback about your program or any ideas on how to make the Alberta School of Business a better place for you, I would love to hear it. If you are unsure about the services provided by the faculty/university or would like to know where you can go to share your opinions, I can point you in the right direction! On my off time, I love reading books about political science and history or biking along our beautiful river valley!
Hello! I’m Mya, and I’m here to help make business student life a little easier. I can set you up with business cards, lockers, and more. If you’re interested in meeting other inspiring business students, the mentorship program may be for you! I’d love to get to know you, let’s start a conversation? Pineapple is great on pizza, change my mind?
