WHAT WE BRING
The Internal portfolio is here to promote the business student life outside of the classroom, and demonstrate that there is something more riveting than a textbook and powerpoint slides. Beyond some of the events that the Internal portfolio plans, they’re also all ears to what you really want out of your BCom degree!
Hey everyone! My name is Mayank and I am your Vice-President Internal on the Business Students’ Association for the 2018-19 academic year!
The Internal Portfolio strives to enhance student life through events and services that are catered to the diverse student population in the Alberta School of Business. These opportunities are put on by the amazing Internal team which consists of Kim, Marvin, and Rohan – Student Wellness, International Advocacy, and Cohort Directors respectively. Shortly we will also be joined by 8 Cohort Representatives that will represent the interests of their respective cohorts and formally organize 4 cohort events during the year. If you are a first year who is interested in student governance (and being a part of the coolest BSA portfolio) I would highly encourage you to apply for a representative position!
Outside of the BSA, you can probably find me complaining about my Computer Science classes, keeping you updated on the Maple Leafs, trying out unique restaurants in Edmonton, or waiting in the Timmies line for my double double! Whatever it may be, myself or any individual on the Internal team would love to chat and connect with you throughout the year!
Hello to all! My name is Rohan Gupta and I will be your Cohort Director for the upcoming 2018/2019 school year in Business. My position deals with specific functions associated with the Cohort system. The primary function in question is my responsibility to select and mentor the Cohort Representatives. It is my job to facilitate the representatives’ development so they can promote Business and its many opportunities to all the first year students. In my free time, I am usually sleeping or thinking about sleeping. If you ever need to talk to me about the opportunities in Business, just wake me up. My metaphorical door is always open for you. As Cohort Director, I am not just a mentor to the representatives, I am also a mentor to every first-year student.
International Advocacy Director
Hello! I will be the BSA’s International Advocacy Director for 2018 to 2019. As an international student, I hope to learn and experience Canadian culture from my peers at the Alberta School of Business. As the International Advocacy Director, I hope to inspire you to do the same and make the most out of your education here at the U of A. In my spare time, I like to talk about cars, play League of Legends (Jhin main btw), and basketball! I’m also fluent in Mandarin, can understand Cantonese, and Malay, so chat me up as I’m always looking for ideas to provide opportunities to international students!
Student Wellness Director
Hi there! I’m Kimberley and I am the Student Wellness Director. I am your go-to-gal for resources and services at the university and beyond that will benefit you mentally and physically. I’m also the face behind your future favorite event: Cure For Mondays. Don’t be afraid to reach out to me, whether it be for a quick chat or more serious issues. I’ll try my best to point you in the right direction. I love traveling, reading, pooches and food! Be careful starting any conversation about those subjects to me, or I might talk your ear off. Fun fact, I can almost put my entire left fist into my mouth.
